Pickleball in Powell, Ohio

Powell has a substantial outdoor pickleball complex at Adventure Park plus organized indoor play at Grace Powell Sports. Adventure Park has eight courts, with six kept available for general open use and two set aside for recreation programs and reservations. Players who want a scheduled session can use Wednesday open gym at Grace Powell Sports. Just outside Powell in Lewis Center, NewGen Racquet Club adds year-round indoor open play, beginner instruction, clinics, and tournaments.

  Adventure Park has eight outdoor pickleball courts that opened in 2024. Six courts are kept available for general open play. The separate two-court section is used for Parks and Recreation programs and reservations, and those courts also become available for general play when they are not scheduled.   Library Park provides another public outdoor pickleball option in town. It is a smaller neighborhood setting next to the Powell Branch of the Delaware County District Library, making it more useful for casual games with your own group than as Powell's main gathering place. • Grace Powell Sports

  Grace Powell Sports runs indoor pickleball open gym every Wednesday for adults age 18 and older. Sessions are scheduled from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, and 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Players sign up for a session online, and courts are divided according to experience level and attendance. This is the clearest recurring organized play in Powell itself. • NewGen Racquet Club

  NewGen is just outside Powell and is useful for year-round indoor play. The club has eight indoor pickleball courts and runs general, skill-based, 55+, themed, and beginner open play. Starting Pickleball in Powell

Brand-new players have an especially good nearby starting point at NewGen Racquet Club. The Saturday Intro to Pickleball class runs from noon to 1:00 PM and is free. No experience or equipment is required. New players can then move into Pickle 101, beginner clinics, or beginner open play with an instructor available to help guide games. Grace Powell Sports provides recurring organized play every Wednesday, with one morning session and two evening sessions. Because players register for a specific session and courts are grouped by experience, it is more dependable for finding games than simply arriving at an unscheduled park court. Adventure Park keeps six courts available for general open use, though this is public court access rather than a fixed weekly paddle rotation. The other two courts can be used for city programming and reservations.

Where Visitors Can Find a Game

If you are visiting Powell alone on a Wednesday, register for open gym at Grace Powell Sports. The scheduled sessions already bring players together, and courts are organized by experience level, so you do not need to arrive with three partners.

For more scheduling flexibility or indoor play on another day, make the short trip to NewGen Racquet Club in Lewis Center. Daily open play specifically welcomes players without partners, and non-members can participate.

If you already have a group and want to play outdoors, Adventure Park is the straightforward choice. Six of its eight courts are kept available for general play, with two additional courts becoming available when they are not reserved or being used for recreation programs.
